Argentine Bahia Lawn Grass Seed (Raw)

Argentine Bahia Raw Grass Seed:

  • Is very drought tolerant, deep rooted and has exceptional disease and insect resistance.
  • Is a Bahia "selection" of Bahia grass that originated from the country of Argentina in South America.
  • The variety was developed by University initially for its forage production qualities.
  • This variety is also sometimes referred to as "Argentina" Bahia.

Argentine has wide broad leaves with a good darker green color, making it more suitable for Lawns in Florida and other Coastal Southern states. It's susceptibility to cold, results in winter kill of stands planted North of approximately Tifton, Georgia. It is used extensively for lawns, because of its attractive look and the fact that it produces less "objectionable" seed heads than other Bahias. Best for use in full sun areas.

    Very disappointing!

Sowed seed at double rate in about 1/2" topsoil. Watered generously. Weeds popped up great. Grass seed not so much. I'm guessing a 35% to 50% germination rate after 30 days.

    Excellent Company

I used to order my seed from one of Seed World's nearby competitors, but I switched to Seed World because their prices were better, but since switching I have noticed a higher percentage of germinated seed. This year there was a mistake with my order, I complained and had my corrected order in three days. They can now count me as a loyal customer.
