Had a Scotts Deluxe Spreader and the cable broke, so then I got a Scotts Elite Spreader which was a huge mistake. The dual rotors on the Elite spreader sounded good, but the gates to feed material to the rotors open less because of two rotors which meant constant material clogs. Sold the Elite spreader for a loss then bit the bullet to buy this 50LB Lesco spreader and cover. The Lesco spreader itself is solid, but as others noted the assembly instructions are terrible. Just watch a video online to see where the 12 bolts go or use common sense to match the bolt lengths accordingly. On assembly, make sure the V bracket for the handle points down since the V provides clearance for the on/off rod to move freely. Make sure to read the instructions carefully and close the third hole if too much material is being discharged on the right. Closing the third hole shutoff half way is where I set mine to spread Lesco brand pre-emergent and fertilizer to achieve an even spread. Overall I'm happy with the spreader and service provided by Seed World USA in shipping it to me quickly at a fair price.
There should be more assistance other than putting pans on the ground to measure how much product Is Being dispersed in a given area. It’s not rocket science. This should’ve already been done in the factory and preproduction to figure out how much these devices spread.
As a professional lawn technician for 25 years I always used an 80 lbs Lescp spreader. Now that I'm retired and only taking care of my own lawn I bought a popular brand homeowners spreader that turned out to be junk, streaks throughout my lawn. So I bit the bullet and purchased the Lesco 50 lbs model at half the price as the 80 pounder but still has the same quality.

(Cons for Lesco Corporate): These are the worst assembly instructions I have ever encountered. I had to keep referring to the front of the manual to determine what you were describing. Illustrations would go a long way toward improving the assembly instructions. I don't know if the U.S. or China wrote these instructions (spreader made in China), but if in the U.S., fix this!

This fertilizer spreader is a great product, your shipping is fast and well packaged.
Supper fast shipping. Spreader very well build and sturdy. Instructions are very unclear you just have to use your common sense while putting it together. One thing I wish it would have is guide to spreading for reference whether printed on spreader or inside printed manual.
