Purple Coneflower

Large 3″-4″ flowers of a dusky rose-purple are borne on long 2′-3′ stems. They have deep bronze central cones and petals that characteristically droop a little backwards. Plants are drought-resistant, preferring dry soil, but tolerating moist. They are extremely long-flowering, from late spring to fall.

Culture: Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Grow in full sun and keep soil temperature in the mid-70's. Transplant to garden after soil has warmed.

Harvest: Carefully cut fruit from plants when full size, but before they begin to soften. 

Nutrition: Excellent source of vitamins A & C.
