Granite Kentucky Bluegrass is a dark green, wear tolerant Midnight-type bluegrass with excellent summer stress tolerance. It tolerates a low mowing height for high maintenance turf, but can also be used for lower maintenance regimes. Granite is very dark green, dense and fine leaved, with exceptional turf quality and wear tolerance. It is an excellent summer performer under severe summer stress, and will persist indefinitely under demanding turfgras conditions. Granite is a low growing cultivar that requires less frequent mowing than most other bluegrasses. Granite has shown high resistance to wilting and excellent drought tolerance for reduced water requirements. Granite is a versatile variety and can adapt to the highest levels of management, or to middle and lower maintenance regimes as well. It is rare to find the overall disease resistance that Granite possesses. It has demonstrated very good to excellent resistance to Leaf Spot, Melting Out, Summer Patch, Dollar Spot, Brown Patch, Rusts and Powdery Mildew.
