Rometsol Herbicide is a dispersible granule that is mixed in water and applied as a spray by ground or aerial application. It may be used for the control of annual and perennial weeds and unwanted woody plants on private, public and military lands on rights-of-way, industrial sites, non-crop areas, ditch banks of dry drainage ditches, etc. Do not use on irrigation ditches. Rometsol controls weeds and woody plants primarily by post emergent activity. While Rometsol has preemergence activity, best results are generally obtained when Rometsol is applied to foliage after emergence or dormancy break.
Rometsol MSM Herbicide is a selective, post-emergent herbicide formulated to provide effective control of a wide range of broadleaf weeds, brush species, and certain invasive grasses. Containing 60% metsulfuron-methyl, Rometsol is designed for use in turfgrass, non-crop industrial sites, rangeland, pasture, native grass areas, rights-of-way, and other approved vegetation management sites. It offers excellent residual activity and can control more than 75 weed species while helping maintain desirable turf and grass stands when used according to label directions.
Key Benefits
Controls a broad spectrum of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds.
Effective on brush and woody plant species.
Low use rates for economical application.
Flexible use across turf, pasture, rangeland, and industrial vegetation management sites.
Provides both post-emergent and residual weed control.
Active Ingredient
Metsulfuron-methyl: 60%
Measure the treatment area to determine the amount of spray solution required.
Fill the spray tank halfway with clean water.
Add the required amount of Rometsol MSM Herbicide while agitating the mixture.
Continue agitation and add the remaining water to the tank.
Apply as a uniform foliar spray to actively growing weeds.
For best results, treat weeds after emergence and before they become mature or stressed.
Use a non-ionic surfactant when recommended by the product label to improve coverage and performance.
Avoid spray drift onto desirable plants, crops, or ornamentals, as metsulfuron-methyl can injure sensitive vegetation.
Brush control: 0.5–2.0 oz per 100 gallons of water, depending on target species.
Native grass areas: 0.5–2.0 oz per acre.
Turf, pasture, and rangeland rates vary by weed species and site conditions; always consult the current product label for specific recommendations.
Do not apply directly to water or irrigation ditches.
Prevent drift onto desirable plants and crops.
Follow all label restrictions regarding grazing, reseeding, and annual maximum use rates.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during mixing and application.
Always read and follow the complete product label before use. Application rates, approved sites, and restrictions may vary depending on weed species, turf type, and local regulations.
