Dragon Fruit - Vietnamese Jaina

Variety: Vietnamese Jaina

The dragon fruit, also known as "pitahaya", is originally native to Mexico but has become significant throughout Asia. The plant only blooms at night with large, white, fragrant flowers, and produces the fruit that the texture is sometimes likened to that of the kiwi because of its black, crunchy seeds. The flesh, which is eaten raw, is mildly sweet and low in calories. The dragon fruit sets on the cactus-like trees 30 to 50 days after flowering and can sometimes have 5 to 6 cycles of harvests per year.

    Amazing

I bought this in February. I went to the physical store and picked it out. It was the only one that was in a larger pot. It took off like crazy. Its now the middle of august and I had my first flower. Stunning. These are Vietnamese white dragon fruit variety so they are self-pollinating. I can't wait for my first fruit.
